The Blackhawk Museum Guild
The Guild was organized in 1991 by co-founder Pat Behring as the volunteer entity of the Museum. While docents form a part of the Guild, there are Guild members who support the Museum in other ways, such as fundraising and operational activities.
This diverse group also offers their volunteer expertise as Program, Library and/or Information/Reception Desk Aides, or assist in other ways, including gallery hosting and special events.
The fundraising proceeds go to the Museum's Education & Transportation Fund which makes possible the presentation of more Family Programs than would otherwise be feasible, and which also defrays a large portion of busing expenses for field trips to the Museum for schools in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties.
Guild Meetings
The Guild meets at the Museum at 10 AM the second Wednesday of each month except August and December, and welcomes guests to these meetings to get acquainted. Meetings feature interesting speakers and presentations.
For information about the Museum's Guild, please call 925.736.2277 and leave a message at extension 651, contact the staff member at the reception desk in the main lobby the next time you visit the Museum.
