All Aboard 2008! European Train Enthusiasts

The European Train Enthusiasts returned to the Museum for the holiday season with their collection of model trains, exotic layout of track, and wealth of knowledge on European railroading.

For those of you unfamiliar with the European Train Enthusiasts (ETE), they visit the Museum every Holiday Season and bring a different layout of trains and track every year.

The ETE is a nationwide organization dedicated to preserving the history and detailing the benefits of European railway systems, all while recreating the spirit of the rails through their extravagant layouts and collection of past, present, and prototype train models.

The ETE exhibit has been immensely popular in the past due in large part to the ETE members that volunteer to be Engineer day in and day out. There were always a couple of ETE members on hand to explain the sophisticated layout and unique vehicles that circle their handcrafted track.

The ETE layout is created with individual components that fit together in a myriad of ways, producing an entirely new landscape every time it is assembled and allowing each club member to present their unique view of European railways.
